This is a throwback article from December of 2019. This event also happened this year, on Saturday Dec 12. Unfortunately, I wasn’t in town yet so I didn’t get to see it! Hopefully no injured Santa’s this year! Enjoy ☺️

Imagine standing on the pier and looking up to see dozens of Santa Clauses plummeting from the sky…

Dressed in big red suits. Holding parachutes. Battling the winds to try and steer themselves onto a giant blowup sleigh..

Every year over a thousand people gather in Cocoa Beach, Florida to watch Santa Skydivers. Planes fly over head, releasing a bunch of these jolly jumpers into the sky. As we gather around (drinking $3 Landsharks 🤪🍺), we cheer them on.

Unfortunately, this year there was one unlucky Santa Clause. As one skydiver landed very hard on the ground, injuries occurred to this brave jumper. After suffering major injuries to the pelvis and lower body, Santa was flown by helicopter to Melbourne. She was conscious when medics arrived on scene, but in a lot of pain from her multiple injuries.

This tradition is a fun and exciting part of Cocoa’s beach Christmas traditions. Although there was an injured Kris Kringle this year, the event continued on… Everyone please send this Santa good and healing vibes. With Christmas being right around the corner, this was such a fun and festive event… 🌊🎄🎅🏼

If you’re ever in the area around this time, make sure to check it out!

We also have SURFING SANTAS coming up on Christmas Eve… so be sure to check them out as well. 🤪
